ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

In both life and coaching, we each play an important role. Your unique program is designed to foster new awareness, cultivate understanding, and develop mindsets, behaviors, and skills that drive professional and personal growth. To achieve these outcomes, the roles and responsibilities below serve as our guide. When we commit to honoring these, the results are stronger, more meaningful, and deeply fulfilling.

THE COACH’S RESPONSIBILITY

As your coach, you can expect me to:

  • Set clear expectations around processes, responsibilities, and the structure of the coaching program.

  • Provide tailored coaching using approaches, tools, and materials that align with your goals and the context of your journey.

  • Create a safe, focused, and confidential space for you to explore, grow, and gain clarity on your values and life vision.

  • Present healthy challenges to push your growth, encourage action, and develop new skills and problem-solving abilities.

  • Nurture your discoveries and inspire you to expand your thinking to embrace new opportunities and insights.

  • Collaborate with you to refine and adapt the coaching plan as needed.

  • Celebrate your wins and successes with you along the way.

  • Be a resource, offering feedback, suggestions, and assignments that help you achieve your goals and bring your vision to life.

  • Listen actively, communicate honestly and directly, and serve as a supportive sounding board for your ideas and reflections.

THE CLIENT’S RESPONSIBILITY

To enhance your coaching experience, I encourage you to:

  • Take accountability for your own development by committing fully to coaching sessions, assignments, practices, observations, and self-reflection.

  • Take ownership of defining your goals and collaborating with your coach to craft a personalized coaching plan.

  • Embrace new experiences, experiment with fresh approaches, and practice new behaviors with an open mind.

  • Arrive on time for each coaching session with a prepared agenda that reflects what’s most important to you.

  • Provide honest feedback about the coaching process, its value, and your areas of focus.

  • Engage in collaboration—whether it’s feedback, suggestions, or exercises—and feel empowered to accept, reject, or adapt new ideas as needed.

  • Share your successes, challenges, and opportunities for growth as you progress.

  • Take time to celebrate and honor yourself for the steps you’re taking through the coaching process!
